Getting The Cheapest Possible Airline Tickets

Larry Ford asked:

For most people, trying to get a good rate on airfare is a necessity. Most people spend the bulk of their vacation dollars on airfare. So it’s a good idea to put in the time necessary to finding a better deal.

There are a few things to keep in mind while you’re researching that will save you a good bit of money. So these tips will help with getting better prices.

Be as flexible as you can

If you can leave a few days earlier or later, you can often save significantly, because cheaper tickets may still be available on a less popular day. Try to avoid the days most business people like to travel. For example, Tuesdays and Wednesdays can be much less expensive days to fly than any other day.

Look into consolidated airline tickets

Consolidators buy tickets in bulk and sell them at a discounted rate to help airlines fill seats up. You can find ticket consolidators in your newspaper’s travel section or online at sites like Hotwire.

You should be aware of the fact that consolidated airline tickets have more restrictions than others, but could be a really good buy if you’re willing to live with those restrictions. It’s best to find out what those restrictions are so you’ll know if you’d like to go that route or not.

Be aware of hidden costs

Ticket prices are often published without ticketing fees, airport taxes, security surcharges, etc., which can raise your costs by 10 to 20 percent. Know these fees before you buy your tickets to avoid any surprise. Read all fine print before giving up your money. It can mean the difference in getting a really good hotel or a cheap motel.

Check out ticket prices online

Ticket prices can be less than 10 percent or more if you purchase them online. Several online travel websites also offer package deals for vacations that include flights, so be sure to shop around and prices vary from website to website.

If you need cheap airline tickets, these tips work pretty well, as well as the other tips you can find online. The trick is to take the time to research well before you buy the tickets. You can often get good prices if you take your time finding out what’s available.

John asked:

they send me the confirmation in the email and it was just $450, but during the search and the whole process for buy it in their site the total price was more than $720

Airline Ticket Cost: $370.00 (USD) per ticket
Airline Ticket Taxes and Fees: $83.93 (USD) per ticket
Number of Tickets: 1
Airfare Subtotal: $453.93 (USD)
Total Trip Cost: $453.93 (USD)

that’s super cheap for an international flight im happy lol but I dont understand why, and I always buy tickets to the same destination and I never seen any that cheap, by the way just before buy it i registered on the airline iberia site so i can get some miles, since the flight first go to new york wit American airlines and then with Iberia, so in the process of buy the flight I put the number code iberia gave me, so why would they make me a discount when I ddnt have no miles U_U
Is round trip, and yea i’m glad I got it I already said that but i just wonder if there is a reason so maybe i can do it again in the future

Low budget airline tickets

cheapfareguru asked:

If you are a newbie looking for low budget airline tickets, you’ve got to know about many things. I can give you few tips on how to get hold of budget flight tickets.

First and foremost it is always a good idea to book your tickets in advance at least 21 days in advance. Airlines generally give out cheap tickets if you book your ticket in advance. Before you book your tickets you should always try searching for fares in different travel portals, you should at least search in 5 portals. Compare the prices of different carriers. When you search for Cheap Flight Tickets try searching for smaller airports near you destinations. The less the demand for the flight, the cheaper they tend to be. Be flexible about your travel dates, some times a day before or day after of your chosen date may be cheaper. Mondays are the most preferred day of travel, try avoiding it, the lesser the demand the cheaper the fares are. If you are a student, senior Citizen, a sports person or you fall under other special categories, ask the airlines if they can provide special discounts for you. No one wants to travel in the middle of the night and so there is less demand for flights at odd times. If you don’t mind traveling at odd times, you may save a lot on flight tickets. There is not much cost difference between Round trips and one way; so you may as well chose to book your round trip, and save on flight tickets. When traveling inside US, try choosing nonstop flights, the more stops you will have the more tax you would be paying, so your ticket will get costlier. The case is just opposite if you are traveling abroad, two are three stop flights tend to be cheaper when traveling abroad. If you are traveling abroad, try choosing national airlines of the destination country, there are generally less taxes involved on national airlines. However this may not be always true. On international flights if you choose 1 or 2 stop flights and if the layover time is more than 4 hours the flight tickets tend to be cheaper.

If you can keep all this in mind while you search for flight tickets, I am sure you would make some serious savings.

Cheap Airfares – 6 Rules of Cheap Airline Tickets

Marina asked:

Rule 1: Flexible Travel Dates

Be Flexible with Your Travel Dates to Save More Money on Air Travel!

Did you ever know that depending on your travel dates flexibility and schedule you can save huge? Searching for a cheap discounted airline ticket, people often neglect the fact that flying 1-3 days before or after the planned date can save them a lot of money. Most online travel sites and search engines won’t give you possibility to check which traveling dates can actually be cheaper for you, and it will be difficult to find a really cheap ticket unless you consult a Travel professional. Having direct access to airline resources and private contracts Live Travel Agents can manually check in real-time best flight options with least expensive seats if your travel plan is not fixed yet.

Rule 2: Free Reservations?!

How to make sure ticket price doesn’t go up when you book it? How to temporarily reserve your seats for free?

Discounted airline tickets are sold out quickly since their number is usually limited. It is often a case when you find a low airfare and don’t book it straight away, price can goes up or expire in a couple of minutes or hours, as other people might have already booked the seats out. Unlike online travel or airline websites, ASAPtickets.com Travel Agents can make temporary reservations for you Free of Charge! They can also check in real-time the maximum time reservation can be held, which gives you time to think the itineraries over and compare different flight options, making you more flexible with your payment day. Your personal Travel Agent will put the seats on hold for you and make sure your ticket price is guaranteed at the time of booking. Eventually, you not only save money booking your flight with a Live Travel Professional, but also have enough time to plan your flight carefully and choose the most suitable flight option for you.

Rule 3: Advance Booking

Always Try to Book Your Flight in Advance to Get the Best Deals.

If you wish to book your airline ticket at the lowest price, try to plan your trip ahead and start searching and booking your flight far in advance. Most airlines offer cheapest discounted tickets provided you make your booking 14 to 21 days in advance. Since quite many travelers are aware of this, try to plan your flight even earlier than that: at least one or two months in advance to get the most reasonable price. However, do not check for discounted airline tickets too far in advance. It’s a myth that booking your flight 6 months ahead makes the airfare cheaper, because the cheapest seats are still closed by the airlines. Besides, closer to the travel season airlines not only open more seats, but also offer season specials and better deals. You may call ASAPtickets.com Travel Agents directly to inquire about the best rates available to your destination and discuss the best time for you to book the flight to get lowest prices and higher discounts.

Rule 4: Weekend Travel

Try to Avoid Weekend Travel and Save More Than $100

Always remember, that it is usually cheaper to travel on weekdays (Monday through Thursday) than on weekends (Friday through Sunday). Airlines may charge up to $50 each way on international flights during weekends depending on your final destination. Weekends are also the busiest period of travel, and flights are well booked, so you can sometimes save more than $100 on your ticket if you consider traveling on weekdays instead.

Rule 5: Duration of Trip

Mind the Duration of Your Trip – the Longer the Stay the Higher the Price

Duration of your trip also influences the price of the airline ticket, and there are general conditions to apply for discounted fares. Most airlines require at least 1 Saturday stay in your travel destination to get a cheap economy class ticket, so if you are looking for the least expensive airfare, it is better to plan your return flight on Sunday rather than Saturday. Besides, airlines basically offer lower fares for a short travel which does not exceed 30-days’ stay in your destination. Though, there are often season specials that allow longer stay for the same discounted price. Generally, the longer the stay the higher the price, and it’s better to check with professional Travel Agents directly for special airlines promotions and the best price for your airline ticket planning your flight.

Rule 6:Multi-city Flights

How to Book Cheap Multi-city Flights Cheaper?

If your travel includes many stops enroute, either an open-jaw or a multi-city flight, it is usually hard to find a cheap airline ticket by yourself. Online engines are also limited to published fares, and if you don’t know what is the best routing, you can hardly find a low airfare online. Having private contracts with airlines serving multiple destinations, Live travel professionals can manually search and combine the itinerary that suits you best. Not only they can check the most convenient routings and lower fares per your travel request, but also advise you how to better combine your trip, how to save more by splitting your ticket into several in order to make your trip more affordable for you.

Dirt Cheap Airline Tickets Are So Easy To Find

Chris Campbell asked:

Everybody wants to get a deal, and pay less money than the next guy. It doesn’t matter if its airline tickets or a great price for lunch. While the advertisers keep tempting us with great prices, quite often you have to pay careful attention to make sure your getting value for your money. What with gas prices being so crazy these days, airlines have resorted to extra hidden charges to stay profitable. While extra charges may be necessary, hiding the from or misinforming the air traveller is not.

The lesson here being, if your looking for cheap plane tickets, make sure your looking at all the costs and fees. It’s almost getting as bad as the cell phone industry, where the initial advertised offer looks like an amazing deal, but the final price is often far more than you expected. The bottom line here, is do your due diligence and make sure you understand all the terms and conditions before breaking out your credit card.

The good news these days, is that you still can get some pretty good deals on tickets. It can take a bit more work then it used to, but the final payoff is in your favor. It used to be, you just called a travel agent, and let them do all the digging for you. If your travel agent was good, you got pretty good value for your money.

Now, with the ability to bypass a travel agent, you can save even more money. There is however, the added expense of your time do the travel agents job. Fortunately, the internet makes this pretty easy. With all the travel aggregators like Expedia, your can quickly compare prices and get some pretty good ticket / hotel / resort / car rental deals.

The other nice thing about arranging your own travel plans, is your more likely to get exactly what you want. Your far more committed to planning the perfect trip for you than any travel agent could be. Even the very good ones. They only have so much time they can spend with each client, to make their business a profitable one. You on the other hand can spend all the time you want.

If you can be a little flexible with your travel plans, your bound to find some cheaper flights. As well, if your not too picky about the in flight extras, you’ll find some of the discount airlines can be very affordable. Keep your eyes open, their are even some auction travel sites that can help in your quest.
